Those of you who know cameras, I'd really appreciate some input. So - "Canon EOS Rebel XSI 12.2MP Digital SLR Camera With 18-55mm IS Lens, 58mm UV Filter & Bag Package" for $599.99 (Canadian) before tax - is that a decent deal/worth going for?

I think on some level, it felt like photography [is/was] just a pipe dream, something so indefinitely in the future it may as well be unattainable.

But honestly - these days, really getting sick of that crappy 4.0MP Canon Powershot that I've been using for the past who-knows-how-many years. But at the same time, I'm in the midst of the last year of high school, freshman year of university the upcoming fall... so maybe it's not the best timing. But then again, maybe it is. I mean, if the world ends in 2012... I don't know. Probably really incoherent right now.

Regardless of whether or not I end up getting a DSLR, I'm probably going to need a compact digital camera to take with me next fall. But at this moment - within the next few hours - is a Canon Rebel XSi for that price worthwhile?


Strangely - and admittedly, scaredly - excited right now. Thinking I might chronicle 2010 with Project 365. I don't know yet. Just riding on that high, don't know if reality'll set in soon. We'll see. What do you guys think?
